Title: Data Governance and Emerging Technology Diffusion with enhanced TAM
Synopsis: Data governance is a key factor in the development and use of big data and artificial intelligence applications, and the developer’s ability to demonstrate and plan for effective data management will play a primary role in the pace of diffusion and customer acceptance.

Title: Regression towards the mean with algorithmic and artificial intelligence-based health systems.
Synopsis: There is a risk of these systems focusing on the health of the “average” patient versus others under the distribution curve especially for those in the tails. This is the opposite of precision medicine and poses an ethical concern for those cases of rare, demonstrated disease or anatomy.

Title: The role of remote monitoring in patients with CKD.
Synopsis: Remote monitoring can play a substantial role in the reduction in complications and slow the progression of CKD by providing an advanced set of AI and big data based analytics that identify and push to a physician alerts related to acute and chronic changes in patient health factors.

Title: Biometrics in creating a global patient health record system.
Synopsis:  Biometrics can provide the initial access to a global EHR systems by providing a unique identifier for every potential patient in the entire healthcare system.  The role of biometrics will provide a secure access and validation system for patients with chronic disease, that often require both multiple specialties and treatment environments.  Given the challenges of delivering siloed EHR systems, policy should be looking to the future to support an environment where patient health data is no longer a challenge but provides opportunities for ease of care and leveraging emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.
